Welcome to another update from BioRural, where we share the latest events attended by our dedicated partners who are actively promoting our project’s mission throughout Europe! We are thrilled to showcase their efforts and emphasise the impact we’re making in advancing Bioeconomy and Circular Economy. Let’s dive into the highlights of their recent engagements!
April 2023 events
In early April, Green Growth Platform, presented the ambitious mission of BioRural at a prominent event hosted by the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce in North Macedonia. The event focused on exploring the potentials of bioeconomy and facilitated engaging discussions among relevant stakeholders from the agribusiness sector, including producers, processors, distributors, retailers, and researchers. The exchange of ideas was fruitful, and we are excited to see the positive outcomes of these interactions!
In another notable event, the “Agriscience and Practice” meeting held on April 19th, our partner Green Growth Platform, had the opportunity to present BioRural. This international scientific and professional consultation served as an ideal venue to showcase original scientific and practical results in various fields of agriculture. During this meeting, BioRural had the opportunity to communicate two key concepts: the importance of circular bioeconomy and the potential benefits of the European Rural Bioeconomy Network.
May 2023 events
Our partners AVEBIOM and Centro da Biomassa para a Energia represented our project in the prestigious EXPOBIOMASA fair, an event with more than 9.000 participants, hosted by AVEBIOM from May 9th to 11th at the Valladolid Fair. This event brought together 29 inspiring initiatives, including BioRural’s sister projects: SCALE-UP, AgroFossilFree, BIOTRANSFORM, ROBIN, and MainstreamBIO. With 200 entities and €144M dedicated to the advancement of the bioeconomy, this gathering fostered synergies that contribute to decarbonizing our society. At the fair, Daniel García Galindo (AVEBIOM) presented the power of the European Rural Bioeconomy Network, emphasising the knowledge transfer between companies across Europe. He also highlighted innovative practices already in operation and shared thought-provoking ideas related to bioenergy and bioproducts.

June 2023 events
Our Portuguese partners, Centro da Biomassa para a Energia and the Universidade de Coimbra, played an active role in promoting BioRural at the BIOMEET Session titled “Biotechnological Innovation at the service of Agriculture”. This session took place on June 7th at the FNA – Feira Nacional de Agricultura in Santarém, organised by P-BIO and CAP – Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal. During this event, BioRural partners had the opportunity to network with the national biotechnology sector, gain valuable insights into the agricultural, agrifood, and forestry sectors, and engage in discussions about the innovative solutions that will transform these sectors.
Our coordinator Institute for Bio-economy and Agri-technology iBO/CERTH represented BioRural in the Forward Green exhibition, in Thessaloniki, on June 8-10!
